    IMPORTANT: NEW RETREAT LOCATION

    The 2026 Wula Drum & Dance Retreat is no longer being held at Iroquois Springs. We received the unexpected news that Iroquois Springs had been sold, and that the new owners would not be honoring any upcoming rentals. This meant that, after months of planning and preparation, we suddenly no longer had a venue for the 2026 Wula Drum & Dance Retreat. We think this could have been avoided, but they chose not to alert us and other groups in advance. Seems the new owners don't care about us smaller groups, and don't consider how these events impact peopleslives. Nevertheless, we immediately got to work, reaching out to venues, exploring different possibilities, and working through the many logistical challenges involved in finding a new home for the Retreat.

    After an extensive search, we found a new location for the Retreat!

    We are thrilled to announce that the 2026 Wula Drum & Dance Retreat will be held at theTimber Lake West Camp in Roscoe, NY!

    Located just over two hours northwest of New York City, Timber Lake West is nestled in the Catskill Mountains on a beautiful 380-acre property surrounded by nature, with its own private spring-fed lake, comfortable cabins, and dining facilities.

    The camp also offers spacious indoor areas that will provide us with dedicated spaces for our drum and dance classes, along with plenty of room to gather, connect, and enjoy the Retreat together.

    We’re excited to bring the Wula community to this new setting and make Timber Lake West our home for the 2026 Retreat!

    GPS INFORMATION

    Please note that 76 Timberlake Rd is often not recognized correctly by GPS, Google Maps, or MapQuest.

    For navigation, we recommend entering:

    3 Burnt Hill Rd
    Roscoe, NY 12776

    This will bring you to the bottom of the hill. Once you arrive, continue approximately 3 miles and follow the signs to Timber Lake West / Camp.

    Google Maps and MapQuest directions do not always work correctly for the final stretch, so please follow the directions below once you reach Burnt Hill Road.

    FROM THE NEW YORK STATE THRUWAY

    • Take the NYS Thruway (I-87) to Exit 16 – Harriman.
    • Proceed west on Route 17 (the Quickway) to Exit 94 – Roscoe.
    • At the Roscoe Diner, turn right (east) onto Old Route 17 and proceed approximately 2 miles.
    • Turn left onto Burnt Hill Road.
    • Continue approximately 3 miles. Stay straight at both forks and follow the road into camp.

    Please plan accordingly and allow extra time for the final drive into camp.
