Bells (set of 3)

Style

We offer two types of Bell Sets for Dunduns: City Style and Village Style.

These iron bells are completely hand-made in Guinea by artisan blacksmiths. The unique sound features lots of overtones and a long sustain. An essential part of the djembe and dundun ensemble, they can also be used to add flavor to any percussion setup.

Sizes are approximate and can vary.

City Style

How they make them in Conakry: smaller than the Village style, more compact for the on the go City Hustle. Example measurements:

Dundun: 7" X 3.5"

Sangban: 6" X 3"

Kenkeni: 5" X 2.5"

Village Style (New!)

In Upper Guinea, where the bells are a more integral part of the music, they are made larger. These bells are special and unique to each village they come from, and stamped with the village name for authenticity. Currently, we have bells from Sangbarala, a Malinke (Mandinka) Village in Upper Guinea.
