Kyrin are a lot of fun and easy to play! These ancient log drums were traditionally played in the forest regions of Guinea, West Africa. Normally in a set of three, they are each a hollowed out solid piece of wood, either Melina wood, or hardwood (Khadi). Much of the djembe repertoire actually came from the Kyrin as they too have 3 distinct pitches and are played together in an ensemble. We offer 4 sizes of the Melina Kyrin, and 3 in the hardwood, all made entirely by hand.
